4th of July: The Morning After

Good morning. Hope everyone had a fun & safe Fourth of July.
I had a great day full of family, sun, Woodinville Whiskey, excellent food, Hamilton on my playlist, sketching and fireworks! I'll come back to finish up this sketch soon. But first I have a Daddy/Daughter Day planned.

Catching Up - Art Dump

You might say that this blog has been neglected. I've been uploading to Tumblr for the past few years and when I tried using the Blogger app on my new iPad Pronit crashes every time I enter a title. So I'm going to do a quick art dump via the web, just to keep this active.

Sketch Daily - Medusa

Good evening internet-land!

I'm back with another submission to @Sketch_Dailies. Today's topic was Medusa, and for some reason the idea of M having a 'bad hair day' jumped into my mind. So I decided to sketch it.

It must be hard for her to style her 'locks' without begin able to glance into a mirror. What with the unfortunate side effect of becoming a statue and all.

Anyway, hope ya'll dig. I have a lot more sketches to catch up to from last week so hopefully I'll have a lot more to post this week/end.

Not to mention wanting to get some more design work done for the side project.

-g'night!

Weekend Catch-Up

Good evening all.

After a rather busy week at work, followed by a rather terrible Saturday morning (with residual lameness extending into Saturday proper) I found myself with a bit of free time today.

As such I made my way back to my computer and started some drawing. However, instead of working on my side-project like I should have done, I found myself getting sucked into working on the remaining two sketches for @Sketch_Dailies.

The first three sketches from the week are in my sketchbook, and I'll take pictures of them and post when available. In the meantime, here are my entries into Thursday and Friday's themes.

Jem and Prince.

Hope ya dig em'.

Sunday, or as I call it, getting Friday's Sketch Done Day

Hey everyone out there who still remembers that this corner of the internet exists.

I finally got around to cleaning up my Hercules sketch for @Sketch_Dailies. I found myself creating layer after layer trying to get it cleaner and cleaner before I realized that I need to put this thing to bed. And get myself ready for the same.

Anywho, I'm really liking the idea of having a topic selected for me to sketch every day so I'll be trying to keep this up as long as I can.

See ya'll next time. Hope you dig.

Thursday Sketch, by way of Saturday

Hey all. So I just recently found @Sketch_Dailies through Tumblr and decided to use this as a means to getting my art/blog back on track.

Here is my (extremely rough) sketch from Thursday's theme... Baba Yaga. I'll be doing Friday's later today.

Warmup Sketching

Good evening. I hope those of you celebrating the Seahawks win are being safe.

I just wanted to take a minute and post the warmup sketches I did today, prior to sketching out the other image I posted. These aren't all the drawings I did today, but they're they only ones I can share.

Hope ya'll dig.

Have a happy, and safe evening.

Super Bowl Request

Good evening everyone.

While the vast majority of the people in the greater Seattle area are watching the Super Bowl, I get to have a dedicated "Art Day" to work on a new side-project. It's been ages since I've spent more than a few hours drawing, and it feels great.

Rusty. Out of practice. And a little frustrating, but still great!

But back to why I'm here. My daughter requested that I do some Football Art today so here is my first ever, American Football Illustration.

Took me around 20 minutes, using the demo of Photoshop CC.

Hope you all dig it, but really it's for one special girl. Hope you like it sweetie.

Love you.

Daddy Daughter Drawing Night

Hi everyone. Tonight I had another fun drawing session with my 5 year old. She's such an awesome little artist. Makes me proud every time she puts her creativity down on the paper.

Anyway, hope you all dig our drawings.

G'night.

Bunnicula Sketches

Hey there internet-land. It's been a while. Today I busted out the old notebook and tossed down some sketches of the super awesome Bunnicula.

Hope ya'll dig.

PS: this is also the first time I've drawn a bunny.
