Happy New Year Everyone!
I hope you all had a happy and a safe one. The GF and I had a lot of fun at a friend's house, having many drinks and playing a really funny board game.
I finished my first sketch of twenty-ten and while adjusting it in CS3 I realized that I never posted my last sketch from 2009. Wow. I guess the vacation really went to my head. I did scan it and edit it, but I just plum forgot to post it.
So here you go. A double posting for my first posting of the year.
The previous sketch is a scene from the 4th Percy Jackson book The Battle of the Labyrinth. [Slight Spoiler] Percy does something very brave (and a little bit stupid) and covers the escape of Annabeth. For which she finally does what we all had a feeling was coming soon. She gives him some good luck.
And today's sketch is of my buddy Aaru Saa the Drow Monk. Who, despite the fact that he can't seem to hit the broad side of a barn in combat, has become one of my favorite characters in D&D so far. I'm really going to be sad if (when) he dies in our next game session. I also was thinking about the movie Willow and did a sketch of a woman warrior somewhat inspired by Sorsha (when she climbs out of her crumpled tent as Mad Mordigan and Willow are escaping on a shield/sled).
I also was trying some new things with my signature. Namely, how I want to sign 2010. I was thinking about using roman numerals, but I'm not sure if I'm too crazy about it yet. We'll see if I find something I like.
Anyway, bed time. Have a good night everyone and I'll see you at our next sketch update.
